Narragansett Maureen F. Connelly, 79, of North Hill View Drive, a lifelong educator, died peacefully Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016 at home. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Margaret E. (Hopkins) Connelly. Miss Connelly dedicated her life to teaching youngsters, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She taught at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Roxbury, Massachusetts, Saint Ansylum School, Brooklyn, New York, Holy Name School, Providence, Rhode Island, Saint Paul School, Cranston, Rhode Island and Our Lady of Mercy School, East Greenwich, Rhode Island where she retired after 48 years of teaching. Upon her retirement, Maureen continued on at OLM After School Care Program for several years. She was a faithful communicant of Saint Thomas More Church. Maureen leaves two sisters, Anne F. Favali and Margaret M. Cassidy; three nieces, Anne, Patricia and Melinda; a nephew, Robert; great nieces Melinda and Marissa and great nephews John and Paul. She was a sister of the late Sr. Joan Connelly, SSND. The funeral will be held Monday, at 8:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday, 3:00 - 7:00 pm.
