Marie Jane Swanson

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (LaFazia) Pezza. She was the beloved wife of the late Preston L. Swanson for over 52 years.

Marie was the devoted mother of Donna Izzo, Patricia Mollicone and her husband, Stephen and Michelle DiRocco and her husband, Michael. She was the cherished grandmother of Erica Izzo, Nicole LePore and her husband, Derek, Brittany Angell and her husband Pucci, and Michael and Matthew DiRocco. She was the great grandmother of Natalia LePore, Beckham LePore, Brooklyn LePore and Pucci Angell, Jr. she also leaves her brother, Benjamin Pezza.

Marie loved to cook for her family and spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also loved to go dancing with her longtime friend, Dolores.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 am in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
