Lynne M. (Tiernan) Peters, 38, of West Warwick, since August 2008, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Thursday May 12, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Richard A. Peters, Jr., with whom she was married to for twelve years.
She was born in Providence on December 18, 1977, to David and Sandra (Costa-Mello) Tiernan.
Lynne worked in the medical field for twenty years, holding various positions such as a CNA, medical assistant, and was currently a medical receptionist for Midland Medical. She enjoyed watching the TV show Cops, going to the beach, cheering on the Boston Bruins, and spending time with her family and friends. Throughout her life, she always helped family and friends to the best of her ability. Anyone who has ever met her would agree that Lynne’s eyes were the window to her soul and her smile could light up a room.
In addition to her husband, Lynne leaves her surviving daughters Elizabeth M. Tiernan, 18 and Isabella and Aubrey Peters, 11 and 9. She is survived by her brother David M. Tiernan Jr. of Cranston, her sister Christine M. Reardon and husband Jason of Coventry, her sister Sharon M. Tiernan and fiancé Paul Hopp of Cranston and her brother Edward M. Tiernan and wife Wanda of West Greenwich, her in laws, Richard A Peters and the late Margaret F. (Mancini) Peters and her sister in law, Kelley L. Peters and wife Dora M. Garcia. Lynne is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lynne was an organ and tissue donor and her spirit will live on through others.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 pm in the PONTARELLI-MARINO HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 am in SS John and Paul Church, 341 So. Main St., Coventry. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
