Louise G. Bassett, 66, of West Warwick, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the wife of Ronald R. Bassett. They were married for 49 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Wesley W. and Gloria Y. (Parenteau) Damon. Mrs. Bassett worked as a social worker for Child Inc. for ten years, prior to retirement. She attended CCRI earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Louise loved reading, drawing and coloring. She also loved cooking. Besides her loving husband, she leaves her three daughters, Milissa L. Guerra, and her husband, Carlos, of Providence, Jennifer R. Bassett, and her fiancé, Leigh Gosselin, of West Warwick, and Veronica E. Basset, and her husband, Brian Johnson, also of West Warwick; four brothers, Wesley Wellington Damon, III, Edward Damon, Wayne Damon and Michael E. Damon; four sisters, Patricia Natale, Laura E. Chingo, Sharon Beaureard, and Gayle Leduc; and nine grandchildren, Oscar Bassett, Joselin and Antonio Sirin, Ethan, Aliyah, and Lucas Bassett, Victoria, Kayle, and Nicholas Gosselin. She was the sister of the late Jeffery D. Damon and Ronald Damon. Committal prayers and interment will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Saint Joseph Cemetery, Route 3, Nooseneck Hill Road, West Greenwich.
