Lisa M. Fortier, 42, of Harrisville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Vivian C. (Landry) Fortier and the late Raymond A. Fortier, Jr.. She worked as a counselor and mentor at various group homes over the years. She graduated from Rhode Island College earning a bachelors degree in Womens Studies and Psychology. Lisa loved the beach, baking, arts & crafts, and enjoyed reading. Lisa is survived by her son, Elan G. Vargas, and the Vargas family; a brother, Kyle Rich; a sister, Carla Rich; and her birth mother, Cynthia Rich. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Lisa’s family on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
