Linda Bernadette Roy

Linda “Lynn” Bernadette (Richards) Roy, age 63 of Cranston passed away unexpectedly at home on May 16, 2023. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of George Richards and the late Theresa (McKane) Richards.

After graduating from CCRI, Lynn moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in business. After enjoying the golden coast for two glorious years, she returned back to Rhode Island to be home with family. She will be remembered most by her litany of positions including time at Auto Trader, Bath and Body Works, Bob’s Store, Forever 21, and Cranston School District.

Her love for traveling was felt throughout the family as she was always excited and planning her next vacation. Whether it be a voyage to Ireland or England to visit family, or a Caribbean excursion where she could soak up the sun. Each vacation brought a spark of happiness and joy in her that will forever be missed.

Whenever she wasn’t soaking up the sun outside in her pool or taking photos of her favorite moments, she enjoyed taking walks on the beach while collecting rocks along the shore. The rocks collected would later be painted with a picture and inspirational quote to help get everyone through the day, even at the hardest of times. On the days she wasn’t outside exploring the world, she was just as happy burning a candle and watching a movie together with her family.

In her free time Lynn and her son Shayne shared their love of animals by going on their yearly trip to Roger Williams Park Zoo. They would spend the day slowly making their way through the zoo while taking extra time to admire the Flamingos and Red Panda’s, her personal favorites. Lynn’s admiration for animals continued to be seen through her love for snorkeling, the love for her cats (Thunder & Culprit), and her constant care for any animal in need she crossed paths with in life.

Her constant out reach and support for her friends, family, and strangers, both in person and on Facebook, has touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.

Lynn is survived by her beloved son Shayne N. Roy, older sister to Kelly Cairo, and her companion Raymond Joyal. Her love will be insurmountably missed.

The memorial service honoring Lynn will be held Thursday, May 25th, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
