Born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Michael Reklaitis and Sylvia V. Barnett, M.D., Julie attended Chicago schools and graduated from Homewood-Flossmore High School in 1971.
She attended several schools before settling down in the banking/mortgage industry. After high school, Julie attended airline school where she studied to become a flight attendant. She also studied at Miami University for Art & Design for interior designing. Finally, Julie spent the last 25 years of her career in the banking/mortgage industry. Julie was the Co-founder/VP of The Mortgage House in Cranston for several years before retiring.
Julie enjoyed shopping, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports on TV, especially cheering on her favorite football team, the New England Patriots. She also enjoyed spending her summers on the beach with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all of those whose lives that she touched.
Julie is survived by her son, Todd Solomon, and her daughter, Jennifer Gagne and son-in-law Jason Gagne. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Aryana and Jack Gagne.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday at 4:00 pm in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a service at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Her burial will be private.
