She goes on to join her parents, Matthew “Tia” Santos and Antonia R. (Andrade) Dunston, and her brother, Steven J. Andrade.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Pemberton; sons, Jason J. Andrade and his wife Aminat, and Jolon J. Andrade Pemberton and his wife Laura; sisters, Denise and Linda Andrade, Sylvanna Santos Anildo Araujo, Angelina Gardner, Iris Gardner, Elizabeth Briggs, Marcellina Aldi, Adeline Simmons; grandchildren, Dajah Almeida, Jedidiah Andrade, Jason Andrade , Sampson Andrade, Julio Andrade, Elias Andrade, Antonia Andrade, and Israel Andrade; and many friends, too numerous to name.
For many years, Josie worked as a paraprofessional at Martin Luther King Elementary School in Providence, where her patience, compassion, and dedication touched the lives of countless kindergarten children and their families. Her gentle nature and love were a constant source of comfort to those she worked with. Her impact went beyond the classroom
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St, Providence. The burial will be private.
