Joseph Patrick Lackey

Providence: Lackey, Joseph P., 75, of Douglas Ave, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Violet C. (Ross) Lackey for 50 years.Joe was born in Providence, a son of the late Albert C. and Anna M. (McNeil) Lackey. He was a lifetime resident of the Smith Hill section of Providence.He was a research assistant for the Department of Planning and Urban Development for the the City of Providence. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Providence College in 1965.Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Joseph P. Lackey and Eric P. Lackey, two daughters, Carolyn A. Fitzgerald and her husband Sean, and Sharon A. Pavao and her husband Russell; eight grandchildren, a great grandson; and his cousin, Carolyn Barclay.Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St. Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
