John F. Viticonte Jr., 82, formerly of Edgewood and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away May 16, 2014. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John F. Sr. and Assunta (Bruno) Viticonte; husband of Marie (Ciccone) Viticonte for 58 years; father of Debra Viticonte-Martin and husband James, and John Viticonte; grandfather of three; and great-grandfather of two. He was the brother of the late Angelo G. Viticonte.
Known as “John the Plumber” for over 30 years, he was the owner and operator of the Viticonte Plumbing Co. He was also a member of St. Anthony Council No.1618 Knights of Columbus, and the St. Bernard’s Society.
Visitation and funeral will be held Monday 9:30-10:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
