Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Elsie (Volpe) Silva, and had been the husband of Julia S. (Quaglieri) Silva.
Jack was a foreman for various jewelry companies before retiring, after which he became a dedicated associate of the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home. He had also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was the father of Karin N. Gorman and her husband T. Michael, and Roseann Carlino and her husband Gennaro. He was also the brother of Richard J. Silva and the late Sandra M. Famiglietti and Kenneth J. Silva.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. with his funeral on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A service will take place at 11 a.m. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 529 Charles Street, Providence, followed by a graveside burial with Military Honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
