John B Montella

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ralph and Natalina (Iacovone) Montella.

John was employed by Almac’s Supermarkets as a produce manager for over 30 years. He was also an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone, flute and clarinet and later learning the piano. John was a member of the Providence Federation of Musicians and he enjoyed traveling with family.

He was father of John Montella and his wife Valentina, Doreen Vittorio and her husband David, and Richard Montella and his wife Anna; grandfather of Joseph and Michelle Montella, Bianca Vittorio and Andrew Montella. He is survived by his siblings Olga Dean, Laura Martino, Sandra Cozzolino, Palmina Ferrara, Ralph Montella. Also the late Assunta Lisi, Victoria Toro, Angelina Russo, Evelyn Olsen and Salvatore and Angelo Montella. John was also the companion of Alice Perrotti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial is welcomed to all to join in St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
