He was the son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Folco) Gagliardi; husband of the late Anna (Persichino) Gagliardi; father of Mary Ann O’Brien; grandfather of Daniel O’Brien; brother of Joseph Gagliardi, Rose Chiello and the late Angelo, Bruno and Marie Gagliardi; companion of Janet Harrison.
John had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed master plumber, a truck driver for Cardi Corp. and a member of the Teamsters Local 251.
Visitation and funeral will be held Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Graveside burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
