John "Jack" T. Flanagan, 70, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Groccia) Flanagan and son of the late John and Helen (Clarke) Flanagan. Jack spent four years in the Air Force where he was a crew chief on a KC 135 aircraft that refueled fighter jets over Viet Nam. Once home he worked for 39 years as an Expediter for Johnson and Wales University culinary division. During that time, he also spent 23 years as a coach and manager for Patricia's Florist of the North End Wanskuck little league.Besides his love of family, especially his grandson Nolan, Jack's big love was music. His greatest joy was to turn someone on to a new band or musician. His vast collection of music, starting in his teens with 45's on up to CD's was his pride. He loved to say "I got that "when asked about a song. His heart was as big as his music collection and he was always ready to help. He was loved and will be missed by family and his many friends.Besides his wife, Jack is survived by his son, Jeffrey Flanagan and his wife Tiffany, a grandson, Nolan J. Flanagan, and a brother Russell Flanagan and his wife Cynthia. He was the brother of the late Kathleen Fritsche. Visitation Thursday, 4 - 8 PM, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St, Providence. Funeral will begin on Friday at 8:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 9 AM. Burial in the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
