Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John A. DiPrete Sr. and Dorothy (Monteparo).
Graduating from Bryant University, John became a successful stockbroker. In his early years, he enjoyed traveling and visiting several different countries. Later in life, John enjoyed spending time with his kids, good food, a full-bodied red, and a large glass of cold milk after his meal. John also enjoyed talking about history, economics, sports, and politics. His mind was filled with knowledge, and his stories will be missed dearly.
He was the father of Gilchrist DiPrete and Sheelah DiPrete; grandfather of Sophia Turchetta; and brother of Diane DiPrete and Stephanie Diprete - Vargas.
His visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
