Joan A. Simpson (Griffin) 80, of Providence, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Timothy and Margaret (McCarthy) Griffin. She leaves her children, Susan J. Colwell, of Warwick, Sharon A. Simpson, of McKinney, TX and Rodger T. Simpson, of Cranston; siblings, John “Jack” Griffin, of Lincoln and Melbourne, FL and Jean Goclowski, of Enfield, CT; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Nicole Colwell. Joan was also the sister of the late Margaret Griffin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11:30 am, in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick.
