Born in 1928, he was the son of the late Andrea and Genoveffa (Ardito) DiIorio. He is survived by his sister, Anne Cesario of Providence, his children, Deborah DiIorio and Gino DiIorio of Manhattan, Denise and Michael Javery of Barrington, and his grandchildren, Allison, Daniel and Andrew, whom he adored.
Gino proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He was co-owner of Allstate Auto Body, owner of Criss Cadillac Auto Body and Oakdale Collision, and known as a true perfectionist in auto body repair and restoration. He was a Past Master of Masonic Union Lodge #10, which recently merged with Jenks Lodge of Pawtucket. In 1979, he joined the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite – Valley of Providence and the Rhode Island Shriners. Gino was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bouffard Council in North Providence, RI.
In the last years of his life, Gino was adored by many new friends at the Sal Mancini Senior Center and at Atria Bay Spring Village in Barrington where he will be remembered as a "true gentleman" and a man who loved to make people laugh.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3rd from 3 to 5 pm at the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
