George Joseph Boisse, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Damis and Philomine (Gagne) Boisse. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene (Leedham) Boisse for 68 years.
George is survived by his five children: Karen Murray, Susan McVeigh (Michael), Donna Smith (Kenneth), Raymond Boisse, and Elizabeth Boisse.
He was a loving and devoted grandfather to his 11 grandchildren and loving great-grandfather to his 18 great-grandchildren.
He was a brother to Jean Ferragamo, Robert Boisse, the late Normand Boisse, the late Rodolphe Boisse, and the late Doris Moreau.
George was a skilled mechanic in the manufacturing field, retiring as a Line Supervisor at Texas Instruments. A quick study with a flair for home improvement, he always had a project that he worked on for family and friends. He was generous with his time and the quality of his work reflected his creativity.
George enjoyed hosting all family celebrations. While a fan of all local sports teams, he looked forward to attending Pawtucket Red Sox games with Irene every summer. He often spent time immersing himself with the latest electronics, purchasing the first color TV in the neighborhood in 1964.
George had a passion for travel. He organized numerous trips for family and friends, always seeking new destinations whether by land or sea. He and Irene retired to Florida and enjoyed many years of relaxation by swimming, traveling, and playing Bocce with their community of friends. He cherished the many visits from his grandchildren.
He will be remembered always for the great love and affection he shared with Irene, the love of his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially by his loving family.
