Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale DeSimone and Jean (Pasquariello) Gentile.
Frank was an Electrical Contractor as well as owner & operator of Park Electric in Johnston, RI for over 60 years before retiring 3 years ago. He was a devout catholic and a long time communicant, usher and a Board of Trustee member of Holy Cross Church where he was very active.
He enjoyed playing Sudoku as well as huge very involved puzzles. He really loved holiday dinners with his family eating Italian food with his favorite wine, Fortissimo.
His grandchildren were the highlight to any day. A phone call or visit in person meant everything to him. His most memorable words to his son and granddaughter, after his accident were “I have been fortunate in my life.”
He was the father of Frank J. DeSimone and Karen Young and her husband Bob, grandfather of Kelly Riggieri and husband Billy, Casey, Daniel and Zachery DeSimone and Brian and Samuel Young and great grandfather of Brooks and Henry. He was also the brother of Robert and William DeSimone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Social distancing, masks and occupancy restriction of no more than 75 people will apply. Private burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Providence Rescue Mission in Providence, R.I.
