NORTH PROVIDENCE - ANDERSEN, Evelyn A., 86, formerly of Douglas Avenue, died Friday at Oak Hill Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George R. Buxton and Ernest V. Andersen. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary (Selmani) Nelson, she had lived in Providence and later Florida for many years until moving to North Providence 7 years ago. Mrs. Andersen had been an inspector at Gorham Mfg. Co. for 20 years. She later worked as a C.N.A. at the DeBarry Manor in Florida for 30 years. She leaves her daughter Evelyn M. Carvalho of East Providence; a sister Rita Bentz of North Providence; a brother Francis Nelson of East Providence, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a service at 10:00am in The Beneficent Church, 300 Weybosset Street. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation Monday 5-7pm.
