RESNICK, ESTELLE, known as “Stellie” to her friends and family, manifested an abundance of optimism and grace. Her steadfastness, love of family and appreciation of her friends guided her through the challenges that she encountered. She deeply appreciated the small pleasures of life, finding joy in the moment. She passed away at the age of 90.
Readily engaging new acquaintances, Stellie had a special understanding of people and turned those relationships into meaningful bonds – truly a special talent. She was incredibly loyal to her family and friends. She took joy and pleasure in watching her grandchildren – Ilana, Chloe, Jake and Rachel, – and most recently, her great grandchildren – Nora and Lily – grow and mature.
Being a true pet lover, Stellie valued that companionship, treating her dogs and cats with great love and compassion. Her generous and kind nature was further exemplified by her charitable contributions to organizations such as the Rhode Island ASPCA, PETA amongst others. She had a genuinely philanthropic and humane spirit.
Estelle was born and raised in Providence, the daughter of the late Pauline and Samuel Riddell, and the sister of Arline Blank and the late Ruth Roffer. She was a lifelong resident of the Oak Hill section of Pawtucket. She was a residential real estate agent for many years, being associated with her family’s real estate business.
Her special love was for summers in Narragansett at her home near Narragansett Beach. Both her children, Audrey and Mitch, grew up there, and Stellie spent nearly every summer there including the most recent one. She relished the chance to walk around the Pier, and sit outside in the warm summer breezes at night.
Estelle is survived by her sister Arline; daughter Audrey Licht and her husband Gary; son Mitch Resnick and his wife Diane; grandchildren Jake Resnick and his wife Rose, Rachel Resnick, Chloe Licht, and Ilana Licht and her wife Vivian Garcia-Licht; and great-grandchildren Lily Resnick and Nora Licht-Garcia.
The funeral and burial will be private. If you wish, please make a donation in memory of Estelle, to the Rhode Island ASPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915 – www.rispca.com (Support-Donate Now).
