It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Esmeregilda "Hilda" Felix Munoz,who entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.
Born in the Dominican Republic on February 15, 1934, Hilda was the daughter of the late Jose M. and Carmen Felix. In pursuit of a better life for her children, she migrated to New York, where she worked tirelessly as a seamstress in a factory. Through her unwavering determination, she successfully brought her children to New York for a brighter future.
Hilda will be fondly remembered for her sassy demeanor, strong will, and loving nature. Known as "El Guardia del 444," she enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, listening to music, and embracing all that life had to offer.
She is survived by her children, Mercedes X. Pimentel, Luis Pimentel, Luis Pastor, and the late Rafael Pimentel, as well as her stepchildren, Miosotis Munoz, Frank Munoz, the late Pedro Munoz, Giovanni Munoz, and Amado Munoz. She was a cherished sister to Rafelito Felix, Tenosito Felix, Matilde Reyes, Hilda Felix, Beatriz Felix, and the late Carmen Felix. Hilda also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in New York and the Dominican Republic.
We invite you to join us in honoring Hilda's life during the visitation on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Romano Funeral Home, located at 627 Union Avenue, Providence, RI.
Funeral Home services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, RI.
Afterward, please join the family for a celebration of Hilda's life at the VFW Hall, located at 7 Haven Avenue, Cranston.
