Elizabeth A. O'Connor

Providence-O'Connor, Elizabeth A. (Gilhooly), passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009. She was the loving wife of James F. O'Connor for over 55 years. Born in County Leitrium, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Mohan) Gilhooly. Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Susan Hayden and her husband Thomas, Barbara O'Connor, Louise Wilcox and her husband Paul, Joan Iacono and her husband Vincent, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Craig, Brendan, Shannon, Michaela and Cameron, her brother, Daniel, and her sisters, Margaret and Josephine. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Michael, Cornelius and Patrick Gilhooly and Mary Walsh. Elizabeth was a homemaker and devoted grandparent. She enjoyed serving as a volunteer at Holy Name School and Church functions for over fifty years. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in The Lady Chapel of Holy Name Church, Camp St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be Monday 3-7 pm.
