He was the beloved husband of Sheila (White) Madden. They were married for 53 years. Born in Ballyfeeney, Kilglass Co. Roscommon, Ireland in 1933, he was a son of the late Bridget and Francis Madden. He immigrated to the United States in 1953 and shortly thereafter, served in Germany in the U.S. Army. He moved to Pawtucket upon completion of his service, and then moved to Providence in 1970 to get married.
He worked at Narragansett Electric for 39 years, retiring as a lineman in 1995. He was a member of Ireland’s 32 Society and was a communicant of St. Raymond Church for over 50 years.
Besides his wife, Eamon is also survived by his sister Myra of Pawtucket and his brother Michael (wife Mary) of Kilglass, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in the United States and Ireland. Eamon was also the brother of the late Patrick Madden (wife Lily), the late Leo Madden (wife Joan) and the late Kevin Madden in Ireland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Eamon on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Raymond Church, 1240 North Main Street, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. At Eamon’s request, there will be no calling hours.
