She was the beloved wife of Frank A. Castelli. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William and Nerina (Palumbo) Pacitti. She was the loving mother of Mark S. Castelli and his wife Susan, David A. Castelli and his wife Sharon, and Deborah A. Castelli; cherished grandmother of David, Lauren, Taylor and Natalie Castelli. She was the sister of the late Italia Luongo, Evelyn Fioravanti, Irma Sementilli, Helen Adamo and Felix Pacitti.
Dorothy was a true Aquarian, enjoying the ocean and boating. The ocean was a peaceful place for her where she could feel the closeness of God’s presence.
She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with delicious meals, (made with lots of love), elegant presentations and engaging conversations. She was a confidant to many.
She had an appreciation for classical music and the arts. She enjoyed spending hours playing the piano. On many occasions, if a piano was present, she would find her way there and become the life of the party, requests were gracefully accepted.
In closing, Dorothy had no fear passing since she knew she would be welcomed in the life there after. She saw the next life for the opportunity it presents. She enjoyed life beyond the horizon.
She is now lifting a glass of champagne toasting her new life with family and friends that have passed before her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 11 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Visitation and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
