Diane V. Cantone

Diane V. (Morrell) Cantone, 77, passed away January 29, 2018. She was the wife of the late Michael A. Cantone. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Louise M. (Marsocci) Morrell.

Diane was the loving mother of Michael A. Cantone Jr. and his spouse Vincent Guarna, Lynn M. Cantone Ross, and Donna M. Cantone and her spouse Jennifer Cantone; cherished grandmother of Michael Ross and twins, Jacob and Olivia Cantone; sister of John M. Morrell Jr., Rosalind C. Cataldi and the late George Morrell.

Diane dedicated her life to being a mother. She took great pride in nurturing and caring for others, especially her children and grandchildren as her family was very important to her. In times of trouble Diane would run to people's sides to provide strength and support to aid them in overcoming their challenges. Diane enjoyed life and liked to have nothing but good times and have a good laugh.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. with her funeral Thursday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
