Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Clement and Anna (Chiodini) DiFilippo.
She was the loving mother of Donna Lombardi, her husband Steven and Deborah “Debbie” Benabio; cherished grandmother of Steven II and his wife Holley, Daria and her husband Joshua; sister of Barbara Blackwell and the late Elaine Sullivan; and aunt of several nieces and nephews. Diane also leaves many close friends that have known each other for years.
Diane had a career in customer service where she enjoyed meeting people and building relationships. Whether she was serving people at the former 1025 or listening to customer problems at Stop & Shop, she always had a smile on her face. Diane also loved to travel with her husband “Jackie”. She went on many cruises and spent weeks in Disney World with her grandchildren. She kept busy going to Bingo or playing her favorite slot machine at Twin River, almost always a winner! She loved to entertain. Every weekend she would get the family together during the summer for a cookout around the pool. She loved to cook and bake, especially at Christmas time, sharing her recipes with her girls. She lived a full life leaving us all with wonderful memories and an abundance of love.
Her visitation will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
