David M. Coletta

David M. Coletta, 54, died peacefully on December 2, 2013. He was the son of Sully Coletta Jr. and the late Gloria (Pepe) Coletta; stepson of Paula (Barletta) Coletta; former husband of Maureen; father of Brad and Ryan Coletta; partner of Andre Velasquez; brother of Chick and Michael Coletta; stepbrother of Sharon Abood, Renee Grasso, and Paul Desmarais.

David was a fun loving person and he had a zest for life. Everyone that David met was touched by his warmth and he always thought of others first.

Throughout David’s life he had 2 passions, his family and friends and the furniture industry. David’s warmth, compassion and charisma drew many people to love him. In return, David loved everyone, and held his friendships very dear. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family, he was the person who brought the family together, and he leaves us with many beautiful memories of what family and friendship truly mean.

David spent his life working in the furniture industry, his career started in his family business Coletta & Kaplan, moving to Harold's Furniture and finally for the last 15 years served as VP of Sales at Cabot House Furniture.

Visitation will be held Friday, 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
