Audrey Robbins

Audrey Forman Robbins, 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. She was born on April 19, 1933 to Mack and Sylvia Forman in Providence, RI. She lived most of her life in Providence before moving to Needham, MA in recent years.

Audrey was the loving wife to Barry Robbins and devoted mother to her children, Lisa Kantor and Joy Kaplan (spouse, Becky Brooker). She was predeceased by her son, Peter Joseph Kaplan. She was grandmother to Rachel Eve Kantor, Shayna Pearl Kantor, Benjamin Brooker Kaplan, and Zoe Brooker Kaplan. Audrey also was the loving stepmother to Seth Robbins and Nancy Ashbaugh. She was a devoted aunt to her close nephews, nieces and their children. In addition to her family, she leaves behind her beloved longtime aide and companion, Gina Robinson.

In addition to her parents and her son, she was also predeceased by her brother, Roy Forman and sister, Jill Forman Starr.

Audrey attended high school at Lincoln School in Providence, RI before she went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Wellesley College. After raising her family, she made a career working in her family business at Marathon Company. She relished her work life and was honored to receive the RJO Lifetime Achievement Award for her career in the jewelry industry. Audrey was also a lively member of the Rhode Island Debate Club. She enjoyed keeping up to date on current events and discussing politics. She also felt a strong connection with her Jewish identity. Some of her happiest times were spent in the summers with family at her home on Cape Cod, in Falmouth, MA, where she served as the hub of family gatherings. In recent years, she also enjoyed the good friends she met in Needham, MA. She was also grateful for the support of her aide, Elaine Walker.

A funeral service to celebrate Audrey’s life will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Temple Beth El, 70 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Family and friends are invited to attend. The burial following services will be private.

Shiva will be observed Friday 6/14 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the home of Joy Kaplan and Becky Brooker, 137 Hagen Road, Newton, MA. Additional Shiva to be held on Sunday 6/16 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the home of Lisa Kantor, 11 Longwood Avenue, Brookline, MA. For more information please contact the funeral home.
