Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late Pasquale J. Petisce Sr. and Lucy (Imondi) Petisce.
Anthony grew up in the town of Marieville where he attended Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary School and was a faithful altar server at the church. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy’s class of 1961, a past member of the Knights of Columbus Bouffard Council, and an avid golfer.
Anthony, “Chef 5,” was a well-known chef in the hospitality industry in Southern New England for over 60 years. Wherever he cooked, patrons followed, especially for his well-loved “stuffies.” Throughout his career he catered many events, touching the lives of many families.
He was the devoted father of Anthony J. Petisce Jr. (Margaret), Holly M. Ruskaup (William), and Christopher M. Petisce(Bethany); cherished grandfather of Matthew and Lindsey Petisce, William and Giulia Ruskaup, and Angelina and Santino Petisce; loving brother of Marcella Palumbo (the late John), Sr. Mary V. Petisce SSJ, Melanie Oliva (Nick), Noel Petisce (the late Debbie), Matthew J. Petisce, Michael J.Petisce (Christina), and the late Pasquale J. Petisce Jr. and Mark J. Petisce; and companion for 27 years of Bev Tobin. He was a treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 3rd from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
