Gallagher, Anthony F. "Blackie," 82, of Greenwich Ave, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Eileen (Mangan) Crenshaw-Gallagher. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary (Lawton) Gallagher. Anthony was an inspector for the RI Department of Transportation for 35 years before retiring. He served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his three children, Steven, Thomas and Kristyn Gallagher; two sisters, Margaret Sauro and Mary Montuori; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He was the twin brother of the late Helen Martin, and brother to Genevieve Agnew.His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
