He was the beloved husband of Virginia A. (Giarrusso) Broccoli for 59 years and was the son of the late Benedetto and Angelina (Soave) Broccoli; brother of Benedetto Broccoli Jr., Carmella Ruggieri and the late Biagio and Florio Broccoli. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and many good friends in Rhode Island and Florida.
Anthony was co-owner of Delaine Collision Center. He was President of the Automobile Association, past President of the Mount Pleasant Lions Club and member of the Dillon Council Knights of Columbus. After his retirement, he was a member of the Town of Johnston Tax Assessment Board of Review. He initiated a Bocce League in Florida which was enjoyed by his senior citizens “snowbirds”. His favorite saying was “I did it my way”. He was a kind and compassionate man who was always there for his fellow man and enjoyed gardening.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Friday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, followed by entombment with Military Honors in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston.
