ProvidenceAnn P. (Toye) Carson, 78, formerly of Home Avenue, died Wednesday at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the wife of the late William O. Carson, Jr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John J. and Anna M. (Tracey) Toye, she lived in the Smith Hill neighborhood before moving to Mount Pleasant in 1970. Mrs. Carson was a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Joseph H. Kolodney, D.D.S., Smith Street, Providence, for thirty years, until 1980. In 1982, she earned her L.P.N. Degree from C.C.R.I., and went on to work at the Saint Aloysius Home, Greenville, for ten years, retiring in 1992. During her lifetime, she was a communicant, and Eucharistic Minister at Saint Patrick Church, and was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, and Saint Augustine Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Saint Patrick High School, and was a charter member of the Saint Patrick Parish Word of God Singers. Ann was a Companion in Mission with the Faithful Companions of Jesus. She leaves three daughters, Margaret A. Carson, of Medford, Massachusetts, Jean M. Carson, of Providence, and Gail Carson Fernandes,and her husband, Eric, of Eliot, Maine; a brother, David J. Toye, of Providence; and two grandsons, Zachary and Lucas Fernandes. She was the mother of the late William O. Carson, III, and sister of the late John J. Toye. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday, 4 - 7 pm.
