Born in Providence, a son of the late Matthew and Frances (Flink) Curran, he was a life-long resident of the area.
After serving in the United States Navy during WWII, Alton graduated from Brown University and later from New York Medical College where he received his M.D. Dr. Curran was an internist, operating his private practice on the East Side of Providence for many years before retiring.
Survivors include: his daughter, Laura Curran and her husband Adam Lane of Brooklyn, New York; two granddaughters, Sienna Curran-Lane and Lucia Curran-Lane and niece, Kathryn Mezzanotte and her husband Thomas of Warwick.
He was the brother of the late Robert Curran.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Relatives and friends are invited.
