Rod was born August 5, 1945 in Yakima, Washington to Benny and Edna (Lusby)Ough.
He graduated from White Swan High School in 1965.
Rod attended Wenatchee Valley College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Forestry. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service (Ochoco National Forest) starting in Fire Suppression & retired in Timber Sales Administration for a total of 28 years before retiring in 1994. He then went to work part time for Les Schwab Tire as a Security Guard & Maintenance crew at the Distribution Center, until his full retirement in 2006.
In 1965 Rod married his high school sweetheart; LaDon Mae Scott in Toppenish, Washington on Dec 11.
They celebrated 46 wonderful years together earlier this month. They had two sons; Travis and Trent, both of Prineville.
Rod enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and camping in the Ochoco’s with family and friends. His family was his life, and meant so much to him. Everyone will always remember Rod with his contagious laugh and easy going nature. He was a proud member of the Yakima Indian Nation, and loved to study anything about history and his heritage.
Rod is leaves behind his wife LaDon, sons; Trent(Tami) Ough, Travis (Carol) Ough all of Prineville. Grandchildren; Trevor, Cheyenne, Teagan, and Taran Ough; one brother Wayne Ough, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rod was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother; Monte Ough.
Memorial contributions in Rod’s name may be made to the Travis Ough Medical Fund at Oregonians Credit Union.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Prineville. Interment to follow at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
