Esther "Bernice" Fickardt

Esther Bernice Fickardt arrived in the Lord’s arms the morning of Feb. 16. She was the bright light of her family, always encouraging love and acceptance. Born 1-21-1928 in Sanish, N. Dakota, she was the 2nd of four children to Vern & Josie Fowler. Married to Richard L. Allen for 35 years until his passing in 1983, she later married Robert Fickardt of Prineville until his passing in 2011. She is survived by her twin brothers Dale & Donald Fowler of Oregon City, daughter Cindy Hemphill (Carl), sons Richard Allen (Lola) & Steve Allen (Vanessa). Youngest son David Allen (Jill) of Terrebonne preceded her in death as did her sister, Dorothy Anderson of Prineville. She was blessed with 12 grand children & 20 great grand children. Employed 17 years with Clackamas Co. Data Processing, she ended her working career as Crook County Finance Director. To celebrate her life; there will be a viewing at Prineville Funeral Home on Th., 2/26 from 1-4. Then a service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal in Oregon City on Fri., 2/27 at 11; viewing in chapel from 9-10:30. In memory, donations can be made to Soroptomists of Prineville or St. Paul's in Oregon City.
