The Lord took Mary Jane Hypes French home to Heaven on Thursday, November 8, 2018. For a short while, she lived at Mercer Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield, WV.
Born in Princeton, WV to William I. and Annie Opal Bennett Hypes on July 22, 1921. She has nine siblings; she went to Belcher School on the Willowbrook Road and graduated from Princeton High School in 1938.
She married the love of her life, David Kyle French in Princeton, WV on August 8, 1940. She was a homemaker and raised her four children. Mary and her family attended Melrose Community Church where they were very active.
She loved life and all the people and family around her, always ready to help and comfort people in need. God was her rock and salvation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David K. French in 1983; her son, G. Wayne French in 1980, son, Mark E. and Donna Edens French, Donald P. French in 2018, son, Stephen French; two grandsons, Joshua S. White in 1995 and Loren W. Webb in 2012; siblings, Theodore Hypes, Anna Mae Bailey and husband, Hubert of Princeton, Ruth B. Dolan and husband, Thomas of Colorado, David L Hypes and wife, Margaret of Alderson, John A. Hypes, J. Stanley Hypes and wife, June of Philadelphia, PA and Maxine Pritchett and husband, James of Bluefield,VA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Linda Webb Reed of the home; grandson and caregiver, David C. Webb of the home; grandson, Stephen Kyle and Sarah French of Charlottesville, VA; and 1 great-grandchild on the way; Mary and Linda’s caregiver, Samantha Shaw; sister, Edith Broyles Lee of Santa Rosa, CA and a brother, James R. Hypes and wife, Maxine of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Services to celebrate the life of Mary Jane Hypes French will be held 1:00PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton with Pastor Hermon T. French officiating. Following the services, she will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Garden of Devotion, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the services Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her longtime caregivers and friends, Garland and Mollie O’Donnell, all the Doctors and Nurses, her beloved Dr. and friend Dr. Khokar and Staff. All of her family and the many friends that knew her will sadly miss her.
