Val was a dedicated daughter who loved her family. She is survived by her parents Lyn Case (Len) & Joe Case and her brothers Brent Case (Diana) and Robin Case (Nancy). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Tyler (Jody, Cora, Oliver), Desiree (David), Aaron, Brandon (Victoria), Devon and Amber.
On April 17, 2017, we unexpectedly lost an amazing woman. Fiercely independent and not one to trouble others, Val could always be found planning new projects for her house, yard, and cabin. She loved architecture, movies, live theater, music, and travel. She was always game for an ice-cream cone or a late-night walk around the block. Val cherished her pets like family, and Suki was her devoted companion to the end.
She approached life with passion. She had a successful career as a sought-after draftsperson spanning over two decades. Even while undergoing chemo, she continued to receive endless requests to take on new clients. When not at home or work, Val devoted countless hours as a coach and mentor to the Kelly Road Roadrunners and the Prince George high school basketball community. She spoke with great enthusiasm and pride about her players and their accomplishments.
She was the best kind of friend: genuine, funny, kind, and generous. Val is deeply missed by all who knew her and will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity close to your heart or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Val’s memorial service will be held at 1pm on April 29th at Westwood Church at 2658 Ospika Blvd, Prince George, BC. A reception will follow the service and is also at the church.
