Kristopher was the beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend to those who loved him. He was fiercely protective of those he loved and loyal to his friends.ristophers loud booming laugh could light up a room, he inherited and bonded with his mother over their shared love of stand-up comedians.
Kristopher’s love for the outdoors began at an early age with camping trips at Long Lake with his sister as well as many childhood friends who were the grandchildren of Gail and Doll. He loved being around people listening to and telling stories. His smile would melt your heart.
At an early age he also developed a love for travel with a number of trips with his family to places like the Dominican Republic and Cuba. In fact, after a particularly exhausting day early in his childhood, he said “I need a vacation.” He also loved the special days of the year celebrating birthdays, Thanksgiving gatherings and of course Christmas. He enjoyed participating whole heartedly in all these events including countless card games of 31 and 2500. He also loved meeting his extended family including great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
After graduating from high school he attended Aurora College in Fort Smith then the University of Northern British Columbia. Like many other young people he was both apprehensive and excited about moving away from home and pursuing his passion. He developed a strong interest in his studies and he would often talk about wildlife conservation, preservation and management as well as overall environmental sustainability. His love of animals was a big part of his life as was demonstrated in his love for his family pets.
It is by no accident that the word “love” is used many times in this tribute. He was both a deeply loving and loveable boy who developed into a great young man. He cared deeply for his family and friends. People who met him for the first time would say he was a wonderful, kind, considerate and kind person. While his life was much too short, he left us all with many happy fond memories. Most importantly we will always remember him for his character which was pure, innocent, kind, caring and loving.
Our hearts are heavy with his loss but we know, with time, our hearts will be lifted by our memories of him and of who he was as a person.
