With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kevin Horsnell, who left us on February 3, 2025, after a brave and unwavering battle with cancer. Throughout his 60 year journey, Kevin showed incredible strength, resilience, and a deep commitment to living life fully and meaningfully. He found peace surrounded by those he loved most.
Kevin was a devoted husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lisa; his children, Kelsey Siemens (Tyler) and Austin Horsnell (Amanda Abbott); his cherished grandchildren, Brooks and Haisley; his parents, Warren and Mavis; his sisters, Loretta Stephen (Rob) and Jennifer Horsnell (Chris Pinkerton); his loving in-laws; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
An adventurous spirit at heart, Kevin lived life with passion and purpose. Whether casting a line in a river or trekking through the wilderness, he felt most at home in nature. He loved golfing, playing and coaching hockey, cheering on his favorite sports teams, savouring good wine, exploring new places, and making lasting memories at the family’s lake cabin. But above all, Kevin’s greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends— sharing laughter, stories, and making new memories.
Kevin lived with boldness, generosity, and integrity. He chased every dream and met every challenge head-on, inspiring those around him with his determination and vibrant energy. His legacy includes a thriving family, strong friendships, and a rewarding career that was all built with care, and unwavering commitment.
To know Kevin was to be impacted by his warmth, humor, and the light he brought into a room. He never hesitated to lend a hand, tell a story, or offer a laugh. His spirit will forever echo in the wild places he loved, the lives he touched, and the memories he created.
Though we mourn his loss, we celebrate the life he lived and the love he gave so freely. We invite you to share your memories and stories of Kevin — and to honour him by embracing your passions, cherishing your loved ones, and living life to the fullest.
We take comfort in knowing Kevin is at peace now, casting a line in heaven’s waters, doing what he loved.
