I had the distinct pleasure of working with Kevin when we were both in Houston working for Canfor. We also shared a passion for chasing steelhead and some of my most cherished memories involved time on the river with Kevin. One of the more memorable adventures involved a trip to Kincolith where we left at 3:30am from Houston, drove for 5.5hrs to the river, fished for around 3hrs and then drove for another 5.5hrs home. After a long but satisfying 14 hr day on the river we arrived home tired but recharged and we both looked at each other and said it was totally worth it.

Rest in peace my friend and tight lines. You will be missed

Today you shared with those unable to travel to be with you an opportunity to join with you by livestream.  Thank you 
We heard of a man who held his family close and loved them deeply. We heard of a man who was a best friend for 30 years ( a true gold friendship) and a man who was loved by his hockey team mates, coworkers, employees, and many more. 
We heard of a man who gave so deeply of himself to others 
And in addition to being a husband, a son, a father, a poppa, and a friend to many he was a nephew, 
A nephew who stepped from his earthly journey far too early yet in his journey touched our hearts and souls so deeply as his uncle and auntie  (his mom’s brother and wife) 
Uncle enjoyed sharing hunting stories , yes there are more than what were shared today :-), with Kevin and talking of all outdoor things.  We loved the reunion in our backyard so many years ago where  a garter snake was placed in a tent,,, sounds like it was a Kevin thing? 
And we loved our time together when you were just here. 
You will be in our hearts always. Until we meet again take care and know that your family will always be held close to our hearts.

 You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived. You can close your eyes and pray they will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that they left for you. Your heart can be empty because you can't see them, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember only that they are gone, or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
 You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you can do what they would want. Smile, Open your heart, Love... and go on.

I've struggled greatly with Kevin's passing and today brought  fresh tears. I am so sorry your family's loss Lisa, Kelsey, and Austin. What great person Kevin was and what a testament to that fact that you required an auditorium for his celebration of life.  I hope you can find your peace with his passing. Kevin was such a genuine GOOD person- one who could be counted on to make things seem  alright at any given moment. He was fair, funny and at times firm. He could read a room like no one’s business and was always generous with his words of encouragement and advice.  Despite his days packed full of personal commitments, he swooped into my busy days and recused me from a chaotic and unhealthy schedule that I couldn’t manage a minute longer- I am eternally grateful.  Kevin, Lisa, Kelsey and Austin were a family that we are proud to call our friends and we cherish the moments we shared.  Rest in peace and paradise Horse

Kevin was one of the warmest, kindest, most genuine human beings I have ever known.  His loss will be felt by all who knew him.  Sincerest condolences to Lisa and the entire family.
