at the age of 80 years.
Don was born on May 23, 1944, in Charlottetown, PEI to Charles “Vince” Grant and Juanita (Tolman) Grant where he grew up alongside his two sisters, Judy and Jeannene. At an early age he enlisted in the Army. A veteran and peacekeeper, Don served in Cyprus in the 1960’s and later in Norway for NATO. After his military service, he pursued a career in the trades, finding fulfillment as a gasfitter/steamfitter.
Don was a man of strong faith and demonstrated an unwavering devotion to his religion. He was an avid gardener and possessed a remarkable talent for attracting and handfeeding birds. Additionally, he enjoyed photography and watching sports. He cherished memorable camping trips with the Orser family, followed politics closely, listening to music and playing musical spoons. He made friends easily and loved visiting and good conversation. He never lost his love for the East Coast. His beloved wife Linda will ensure that his remains are returned to PEI where he will be laid to rest. His departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Don is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife Linda with whom he shared 28 years of marriage, as well as four children and 15 grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly and was so proud of - his greatest legacy.

Daughter Melanie (Keenan) Tameling; Noah, Emma, Kyle, Ava, Kayla.
Son David (Lisa) Grant; Evan, Colby, Carter.
He will also be profoundly missed by his sister Jeannene (Byron) Ferguson, niece Michelle (Troy) Thompson; Lily, Emma.
Brother-in-law Ronald Fong and niece Sarah Fong.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Charles “Vince” and Juanita Grant, sister Judy Grant and stepson Christopher Fong.
A funeral mass for Don will take place on Saturday November 16th, 2024 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 887 Patricia Blvd., Prince George, BC.
