It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Dale Anne Hodges, age 81, of Prince George, British Columbia, on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024. Although born in Ottawa, Ontario on May 29, 1943 to Jack and Claudia Main, Dale spent her formative years in Montreal. She met and married, the love of her life, David Hodges in 1966, growing their family to include their children Michelle, Natalie (Jason), and Andrew (Sandy) whom they raised in Prince George BC. Eventually those families grew to include her beloved grandchildren: Troy, Eric, Allison, Christopher, Elizabeth, Sarah and Travis and her great-grandchildren Everett, Malcom, and Gracelynn.
Dale lived with a “joie de vivre” enjoying her friends and family for whom she had so much love. Dale particularly enjoyed Diet Coke, to play golf, watch hockey, especially her beloved Montreal Canadiens, and to play canasta and bridge with her friends. In most every game of charades, she played both teams as her enthusiasm bubbled over and she simply could not resist. Her infectious smile and laugh brought happiness to many.
Her beloved husband David Hodges, her parents Jack and Claudia Main, and her grandson Christopher Matthews preceded Dale. She is greatly missed by her sister Margo Pollard (Michael), her children and her grandchildren who survive her.
An open house will be held to celebrate our wonderful mom on November 16th, 2024 at 5892 Simon Fraser Ave from 1– 5pm. Please feel free to pop in during this time and share your memories. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Hospice, two charities she supported and strongly believed in.
