She is preceded in death by her father, D.C. Wood; mother, Connie Vickery Wood; brother, J. Malcolm Wood; as well as her sister-in-law, Brenda Semmes Wood. She is survived by her brother, Clarence M. Wood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sonja was a lover of music and had a cherished collection of CD's. She also enjoyed filling her spare time with arts and crafts. She was a proud member of "Joy" Ladies' Sunday School at Catoma Baptist Church. Flowers will be happily accepted by the family or a memorial contribution can be made in honor of Sonja to Catoma Baptist Church.
Pallbearers for Sonja's services will be Jeff McCollum, Jason Mayhan, Fred Dobbs, Matthew Mayhan, Russ Wood, Bryant Wood, and Jeff Cox
A visitation for Sonja will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067 with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at the later date of Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, 3001 Simmons Dr, Montgomery, AL 36108.
