On the morning of December 2, 2022, Orville “O.E.” Williams Jr., 76, went to his heavenly home to meet our Lord and Savior, surrounded by family. Our hearts are saddened by the loss of a larger than life man, but are comforted by the strength of his faith in the Lord. O.E.’s life was his testimony, which began when he was saved in 1977. Since that day, he studied the KJV Bible passionately, and passed down his knowledge of the Gospel to his family and those he came in contact with.
O.E. is preceded in death by his father, O.E. Williams Sr. and his mother, Annie Mae Williams. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Williams; sister, Myrna Williams; his children, Katie Allen (Steven), Bart Williams (Krista), Amanda Lovelady (Whit) and Caroline Williams. O.E.’s family was his greatest pride, as was seen in the love he had for his grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Andrew and Benjamin Allen, Charlie and Allie Kate Williams and Annagrace and John Luke Lovelady, plus numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
O.E.’s life was nothing if not lived to the fullest. His childhood was spent travelling the country with his parents for work and to see family, until they settled in Autaugaville, Alabama. After graduating from Hicks Memorial High school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Takili, Thailand during the Vietnam War. He worked as an aircraft flight mechanic during his five years of service before he was discharged with honors. After his time in the service, O.E. began his life’s dedication to his farm and helping other farmers in the community. O.E. was always quick to lend a hand and never asked for anything in return. He was an active member of the Autauga Academy Board of Directors and hosted school trail rides and deer hunts on the farm. He loved fishing, whether it was on the farm with family or with friends deep-sea fishing at Orange Beach. O.G. was a Master Mason member of the Blue Lodge #899 in Prattville and cherished his time spent in fellowship there. He also served as President of the Autauga-Dallas Farmer’s Co-Op.
Some of O.E.’s fondest and most important life memories took place in a field or on a tractor, working with friends and family. The stories of how O.E. impacted, helped or made those around him laugh are countless and comforting to the family. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel, 347 E. Main Street, Prattville. A graveside service for O.E. will take place Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Rocky Hill Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
