Mr. Dobbs was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Reeves Dobbs, his father and his mother, brothers Don Dobbs and Mac Dobbs and sister Nancy Dobbs Morris.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division Paratroopers and later he was a pipefitter and served from Local 150, Augusta, Georgia for more than 65 years, where he was known as “Jet”. He also served as the manager of the Water Department in Hephzibah, Georgia before retiring.
Mr. Dobbs was a resident of Hephzibah, Georgia for 50 years before moving to Millbrook, Alabama in November, 2020. He was a longtime member at Hephzibah Unity Fellowship where he served for more than 20 years. Mr. Dobbs loved socializing with his family and many friends. His favorite place to relax was at his camper at Lightwood Landing RV Park, a place he called “Paradise” on Lake Jordan, AL. There he spent many days fishing with his buddies and ”going after the big one!” A favorite time of his was having his friends over to his deck sharing his multitude of lifelong memories.
Surviving are his loving wife of thirty years Kay Brown Dobbs, sons Timothy Dobbs (Anna) of Martinez, Ga, Stacy Dobbs (Jennifer) of Clanton, Al, daughters Lanora Usry of Augusta, Ga, Deborah Pappion of Ocala, FL and Stephanie Gecewicz (Bill) of Tampa, Florida. He also had 8 grandkids and 4 great grandkids, sisters Jeanette Crook of Montgomery, AL and Joan Respess of Millbrook, AL and sister-in-law Jean Rae Dobbs Cobb, Prattville, AL.
