Kermit Francis Suggs peacefully entered his heavenly home on July 4, 2024 at the age of 78. He was born on July 2, 1946 in Lawrenceburg, TN. He is survived by his two children, Jason Suggs (Mandi) and Marci Johns (Bo), three grandchildren, Ella Johns, Caroline Suggs, and Ava Suggs, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kermit served the State of Alabama for over 30 years in various positions, but his most recent and beloved service before his retirement was with the Alabama Judicial Building where he devoted much of his professional career as a building engineer. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and camping which he passed on to his son, Jason. He and Jason spent many hours on the Alabama river and campgrounds. He will be missed very much by his family and all who knew him for his friendly smile and very funny personality.
Kermit was a member of Landmark Church of Christ where he was an active servant and brother in Christ.
A visitation for friends and family is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Landmark in the Celebration Room. While our hearts mourn the loss of a father, grandfather, and friend, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and has found peace in his heavenly home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alabama Wildlife Federation in his honor (https://www.alabamawildlife.org/donate/ ).
