Gilbert Allen Scott was born on 27 September 1936 to the late James Rucker and Cattie Bell Golson Scott in rural Autauga County. He had nine siblings, two of whom are still living. He was preceded in death by his son, Tim; three sisters, Midge Bland, Juanita Posey and Syble Laird; four brothers, Rucker, Jr., Clarence, Robert and Johnny Scott; one niece and four nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Fischer Scott; a daughter, Pamela (Ted) Kicklighter; grandsons, Taylor and Leif Kicklighter; one sister, Jimmye Panno, of New Orleans; one brother, Terry (Barbara) of Wetumpka; two sisters–in-law, Jo Perry of Prattville and Carol (George) Moody of Midland, Texas; eight nieces and seventeen nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 22nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with services held Monday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Booth UMC Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leif Kicklighter, Taylor Kicklighter, Cross Moody, Tyler Moody, Keith Scott and Wayne Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be David Golson, Dr. Rudolph Golson, Robert Hull, Norman Mills, Herb Murray, Ottis Smitherman and Fred Thorn.
