George Jenks,73, of Hope Hull, Lowndes County went to be with our Lord and Savior surrounded by his wife of 42 years Melissa Jenks, on October 7, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was a devoted husband and a loving patient father.
George was born in Key West Fl to Henry Jenks and Jeannette Jenks Kallelis on February 14, 1949. He had 5 siblings. He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force. On November 1, 1980, he married his loving wife Melissa Prescott Jenks and together they raised their one and only beloved son Brent Alan Jenks.
George loved his church family and praising the LORD at St Clair Assembly of God church. He enjoyed the love and fellowship of the congregation and the preaching of the word from Pastor Nick Gaines. His hobbies were golf, horseback riding, going to the beach with son Brent and watching Auburn football together. He was known for his sense of humor among family, friends and the nurses and doctors at the Montgomery Cancer Center. He always made them laugh with his terrible jokes.
George was preceded in death by his beloved stepfather Achilles aka “Acky Kallelis,” his paternal father Henry Jenks, his beloved mother Jeanette Kallellis and two sisters Carol Tunison of Yakima WA, and Betty Kissel of Montgomery, Al.
