Gary Michael Parrish, aka “Bubba”, age 41, returned to his heavenly home on September 10, 2015. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.Gary was born to Roy Sr. and Linda Parrish in Montgomery, Alabama on March 19, 1974. He grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. As an adult he was an active youth leader in his church and went on to be a charter member of Seasons Church in Prattville, Alabama. Gary was blessed with a loving and loyal family. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Elizabeth Jackson Parrish, on July 25, 1998 in Prattville, Alabama. Gary helped raise his two sons with love, support, and dedication. He did everything in his power to insure his family had everything they wanted. Family vacations were important to Gary, and the memories they created will last a lifetime. From the very beginning, he dedicated his sons to God, and with Elizabeth, taught them to always put their trust in Him.
Gary was an outdoorsman at heart: From hunting to junking to grilling out for an Alabama football party. In everything he did, Gary impacted those around him and formed friendships that will stand the test of time. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Father in Heaven.Gary is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his sons, Tanner and Ryan; his parents, Roy Sr. and Linda; his brothers, Roy Jr. (Amy), Jon (Sarah), and Jeff (Audrey); and his maternal grandmother, Mary Wingard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Gary is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Dewey Parrish, Sr. and Sarah Parrish; and his maternal grandfather, John Wingard Sr.
Services will be held at Seasons Church in Prattville, Alabama at 2:00, visitation will be from 12:30-2:00, officiated by Pastor Joey B. Fine on Sunday September 13, 2015. Gary will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Prattville, Alabama immediately following the service.Active Pallbearers will be William Smith, Chad Smith, Jacob Taylor, Jason Missildine, Bryan Weight, Jimmy Wyatt, Marson Gray, and Alan Williamson.
