Betty was born on January 15, 1944 at Maxwell Field, Alabama to Loyd John and Bonita Cox Gamberg. She grew up in Prattville, Alabama forming many enduring friendships along the way. After graduating from Autauga County High School in 1962, she went on to study at Auburn University. After spending ten years away, she returned home with her three children to her beloved Prattville. Betty worked as a banker for many years before pursuing a second career as a massage therapist. Betty, most importantly, loved her family, her friends, and her God so well. She had a passion for reading, a gift for writing, and a love for animals. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend and leaves behind a life well lived.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Loyd John Gamberg, her mother, Bonita Cox Gamberg, and her brother, Dale Gamberg. She is survived by her three children, Nickie Leagans (Bryan), Chris Norris (Marnie), and Tracey Fagan (Barry), her nine grandchildren, Amanda Norris, Morgan Clark (Cameron), Katie Rainey (Connor), Parker Fagan (Lexie), Brianna Singh (Prakhar), Pierce Leagans, Cade Norris, Isabella Leagans, and McGee Fagan, and her five great grandchildren, Madisyn (Amanda), Joseph and Henry (Morgan), and Brian and Everette (Parker).
A celebration of life will be held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Friday, January 27, 2022 at 4:00 PM with visitation at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Prattville/Autauga Humane Society.
